Autumn Postcard Swap

Fall has always been my favorite time of year, probably because I grew up in Sacramento and it finally meant the cooling was coming. I still look forward to those crisp golden days with anticipation. So I have volunteered to host the Hula 70 Autumn Postcard Swap with joy in my heart. We had so much fun with the summer round, I am hoping to continue all the goodwill and happiness that was inspired around the world.

Some inspiration, just to get you in the mood:
pears, pomegranates, and pumpkins…snuggling…popcorn balls and caramel apples…big, fat, dahlias…rich, vibrant colors, like plum, amber, copper, goldenrod, and crimson…gingerbread…sweater weather…mums and marigolds…the glow of a cozy fire…a Hunter Moon…and candy corn.

If you would like to join us, this is a chance to try out your creativity in a small way—just a little 4x6 piece of mail that will bring delight to strangers. I think that many of us found that making the cards was as rewarding as getting these little nuggets in the mail. Imagine all the things you could do with scraps of paper, plain and patterned, photos, magazine cuttings, stamps, sewing, and personal drawing and painting artwork. And words too--quotes, original poetry, personal messages. There are endless possibilities and that’s what makes it exciting.

I already have quite a list of participants, but we welcome everyone who wants to get involved. I will take names until August 15th. Send your name and mailing address directly to me at c8mills[at]yahoo[dot]com. I will send you a personal email, confirming that you are on the list. On Aug 23rd I will send out your group of names and addresses, approximately 10-15 people. The mail out date for the postcards will be the Autumn Equinox, Sept 23rd.
