Today we will honor the life of Janice Mills at her memorial service. I wanted to say all the reasons I am grateful to have had her in my life.
She was an example of what it means to be strong and brave, fighting off the pain in her life without complaint.
She was cheerful and lively.
She wrote tender poetry.
She always had a kind word, in 29 years she never said a bad thing to me.
She raised a son who is filled with love and kindness and responsibility.
She gave me two more sisters to love.
She was a loving, joyful grandmother to my children.

Her dream to dance with "red" shoes has finally come true. I know that is exactly what she has been doing since she passed on a week ago Wednesday.
