On our Christmas tree there's one special ornament, which charms guests and especially children every time. One touch and it turns on all the lights on the tree! When we have kids over, we stand them in front of the dark tree and tell them to touch the snowflake. The expression on their faces go from dubious questions to delight instantly.
It works by static electric and is plugged in to the lights with it's own extension cord. I wish I could tell you how to get one, but I bought it at Lowe's two or three years ago. Maybe they still carry them.
