Pollen
If you live in the mountains, you become used to pollen season, when giant yellow clouds of pine pollen fill the air and land on EVERYTHING. Combine that with the 30 mph winds we had yesterday, and you'll find that a thick coat covers your car, your deck, your carpet, your clothes, your eyes, mouth, and nose. It follows closely behind "Flying Carpenter Ant Day."
Here in Reno there are not millions of pine trees, like there are in the Tahoe area. But I have 13 pines trees in my yard alone. Needless to say, I am a dusting, mopping, vacuuming fool right now. I say fool because you know I'll have to do it all over again tomorrow.
Yesterday, we noticed little white puffs floating by on the breeze. Yes, here comes Cottonwood season too.
