Burning Update

Quick Report from Black Rock Desert:

On Monday, someone took it upon himself to burn the man at the lunar eclipse, so when we arrived on Tuesday morning, there was a charred frame left atop the pavilion. They claim they will have it re-built in time for Saturday's proper burn. The ranger who caught the guy said that he was easy to spot--there were 8000 people running towards the man and one guy running away.

It's lovely and cloudy today, which keeps the heat down. A threat of showers, which is good if it's a light shower, but a disaster if it's a full-on thunderstorm. Mostly very pleasant here, little dust, warm, but not overwhelming heat. Having lots of fun meeting people from around the world and cruising the playa on our bikes.

More soon.
