I cried deep choking tears on this one as Sal travels across the country with her grandparents in search of her missing mother. I love her style of telling two stories together.
Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt
I’ve read this book out loud to classes 11 times and found something new and astounishing each time. Her prose is like poetry: full of metaphors, similes, and philosophy about life, death, love, and obligations. Watching the movie does not count, this needs to be read to absorb its beauty.
