Why would anyone want to come sit out in the gravel and creosote bushes? Here's a few reasons:
perfect temps, high 70's, low 80's
lavender sunsets on the Chocolate Mountains
friendly campfires
golden sunrises
big, big sky at night, endless stars
watching the largest full moon of the year rise slowly
unbelievable variety of migrating birds
long, quite hours to read, lounge, eat, not much more
nice walks in the cool morning air
time alone with Brad, 24 hours a day, we are never apart

I sure can relate to what you are saying. Warm temperatures, beautiful sunsets. Coming from the frozen north to this way of life is a blessing.
