I get this question all the time and there is simply no way I can answer succinctly...30,000 people on the hot, dusty, windy, flat Black Rock Desert of Nevada…dressed or undressed in strange costumes…greeters…theme camps of assorted oddballs to visit...center camp with coffee and ice for sale, nothing else…pack everything in, pack everything out… leave no trace…massive, bizarre, art…fire dancers…drum circles…playa…sky divers…giant black smoke rings in the sky…dr. megavolt…bikes everywhere...goggles…face masks…pagan rituals…public massages…critical tits parade…thunderdome…radical self reliance…creativity…participation…large sound…wild art cars…the department of mutant vehicles…body paint…piss clear…swirling dust storms...

…and then they burn this giant wooden man.
