I found a website that explains how to remove haze from photos. This was vital information when I was printing up all those murky and bleak Great Wall and Beijing pictures.
In Photoshop Elements 5.0, go to Enhance>unsharp mask...
amount 20-30%
radius 40-70 pixels
threshold 0 levels
In Photoshop 2.0, unsharp mask is under the filters tab.
