I needed some fennel seed and looked at several brands in the grocery store to decide which one to get. So I glanced at the price comparison label, $2.49 an ounce or $3.06 an ounce? I thought I’d buy it in the smaller plastic McCormick bottle and just pour it into the nicer glass jar at home, but it actually cost more that way.
Then my eye wandered over to the dill weed. What’s this? $14.79 an ounce? And dried mint leaves $19.96 an ounce!!!! Mint is nothing, it grows rampant everywhere. You’d think it was illegal drugs or something. This is robbery, who’s paying attention? Who’s paying these prices?
